INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 9, 2015) – A Tuesday morning crash that killed an Indianapolis principal and his niece has claimed another life.
Joshua Sandile Ncube, 12, has passed away, according to Colleen Kelly with the Indiana Conference of Seventh Day Adventist Church.
His father, Norris Ncube, the principal at Indianapolis Junior Academy, was driving to school Tuesday morning when a gold SUV ran a red light and crashed into his SUV. Ncube and five children were in the vehicle. Norris Ncube and his 5-year-old niece, Malia Siziba, died in the crash.
Jessica Ncube, Norris’ daughter and Joshua’s sister, remains in the hospital. Two other children injured in the crash have been released and are recovering.
The driver of the other vehicle, 80-year-old Jack Reed, suffered a medical condition that led to the crash. Reed’s family said it was likely a stroke.
Indianapolis Junior Academy has been closed since Tuesday’s crash. Classes will resume on Monday and therapy dogs will visit students when they come back.
Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Thursday although they have not been finalized.
